Mark McCrindle

Social Researcher

Mark McCrindle is a social researcher with an international following. He is recognised as a leader in tracking emerging issues and researching social trends. As an award-winning social researcher and an engaging public speaker, Mark has appeared across many television networks and other media.

He is a best-selling author, an influential thought leader, TEDx speaker and Principal of McCrindle Research. His advisory, communications and research company, McCrindle, count among its clients more than 100 of Australia’s largest companies and leading international brands.

Mark’s highly valued research and reports, presented through infographics, data visualisations, videos, media input, resources, and blogs, have developed his regard as an expert demographer, futurist and social commentator. Mark brings a fresh approach to his research based boardroom briefings, executive workshops, strategy sessions and keynotes. Armed with the latest findings and presented in a customised and innovative way, Mark is an in-demand communicator.

Mark McCrindle, BSc (Psychology), MA, is the author of four books on emerging trends and social change. Education Program Director

Dr Jordana Hunter is the Education Program Director at Grattan Institute. She has an extensive background in public policy design and implementation, with expertise in school education reform as well as economics policy.

She has co-authored a number of Grattan reports on school education, focusing on education strategy and teacher professional learning. Her particular research interests are in approaches to designing government policies to support quality teaching and evidence-based literacy and numeracy instruction.

Jordana previously held policy roles in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet, and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. She has also consulted to Australian school systems, education service providers, and individual schools.

Jordana has a PhD from the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne and has presented her academic research at several international conferences. She also has an Honours degree in Law and Commerce (Economics) from the University of Melbourne.

Senior Lecturer

Dr Paul Kidson is Senior Lecturer in Educational Leadership at the Australian Catholic University. His diverse educational career encompasses low socio-economic multicultural suburban schools, educationally advantaged inner metropolitan schools, curriculum leadership in regional NSW and Victorian schools, 11 years’ as a school principal, and as an Educational Leadership scholar since 2017.

His teaching and research adopts a holistic and interdisciplinary approach, drawing on a range of academic disciplines and insights. Through this, he explores how school leaders work within, and critically transform, their complex professional lives. This encompasses broader systems and policies that govern their work and school communities, as well as how they develop and sustain their personal leadership story. He is a passionate advocate for the value of the teaching profession, and the importance of teachers and school leaders to the welfare of our society.

He is part of a large scale research project on teacher and principal workload in government schools in conjunction with the University of Sydney and Curtin University, and one of Australia’s longest running principal well-being research projects run through the Australian Catholic University and Deakin University.

From Brisbane CBD or Eastern Suburbs – Head via the M3 to Gilchrist Ave in Herston, take the Herston Rd exit from M3. From Northern Suburbs – Head via Enoggera Rd or Lutwyche Rd. Victoria Park is less than a 10 minute drive from the CBD by car and offers complimentary parking for all guests.

By Bus

Buses 66, 330, 333 and 340 stop regularly at the Herston Bus stop which is a short walk from the Victoria Park entrance gates. All Buses run from north to south return with various stops, also passing through the Brisbane CBD. For more information visit translink.com.au.
